At first, this looks like a modern gaming rig.

Well.... We already knew that. It’s like Torch’s terrible reverse sleeper ideas.

Didnt go very far, I need to get a working power supply for it. Soon though. I re-soldered the power input connection, that was visibly cracking, so once I get the correct voltage in, should power right on. Hopefully.

Aw, man.

Hm, after reading your post...

I’ve welded many times but never soldered.

It’s the opposite for me. I solder custom made cables several times a week. Welding however, I have not had the opportunity of trying yet.

I’ll see if I can find a power adapter at work, if not, I’ll order one and keep you posted. I’ll be buying Dragster once I can get the 2600 up and running.

In undergrad, I wasn’t... really supposed to do this, but my supervisor at work let me anyways... Taught other art students how to weld. That was so much fun, that woodshop in the basement of the art building. I miss it dearly.

Having access to a woodshop for 4 years was my favorite part of undergrad.

If only I knew you 3-4 years ago... :P

I always thought about doing this, but then I descovered GOG and also realized that I’m incredably lazy. I just run a Windows 98 VM for all my old gaming CD’s that I have and GOG for the rest.

1980 unit. Seems fully functional so far. Need to get a controller and a couple games to know for sure.

Dragster and the original Tron are on the list.

Hey this might be a shot in the dark but I was wondering if you have any PC parts you don’t use or are selling. I’m trying to fix up an old PC for my mom’s friend and figured maybe I’d ask you before running off the New Egg or Amazon. I’m trying to upgrade her memory to 8 GB and it’s got DDR2, a cheap decent graphics card to help with youtube or streaming Netflix (the machine has a core 2 duo and no graphics card that I’m aware of) and and SSD to keep things speedy for a long time but I might just end up buying that new.

The only spare part that I have that would be of use is a spare 320GB 7200RPM HD but you said you want to get her an SSD, so I am not sure... Sorry. But if you want the drive, let me know.

Hey thanks for letting me know. It's cool I'll probably just get the SSD from Amazon.
